Good lord this blog is overdue- let's blame ADHD and the pandemic, and not that I just completely forgot to do it until 6 years later!
Back in 2018 I set about an idea to raise money for the Severn Hospice in Shropshire. My sisters had both done their dues - one running a marathon and the other speed knitting Chocolate orange covers (a story for another time) so I felt it was my turn.
I'd done a little test workshop at my home with some friends to see if the format worked, and rather delightfully it did. So, with Covid looming over our shoulders, I started advertising for a mindful spirograph workshop! Making their own little canvases, a lovely set of people all donated money to join, raising £400 for the hospice in total.
The OPO in Shrewsbury really kindly let me use their event space for a Tuesday evening, and I spent most of the day lugging canvasses up the Cop (a busy crowded shopping hill for those not in the know) battling the wind and praying that people would turn up. Getting all the spirograph sets ready, paper and canvases in place, took most of the day, and thankfully my sister Rosie and dear friend Lucy came to help me for the evening.
A lovely video was made of the event, check it out above!
